Peaceful & Relaxing
Prado Toro is a beautiful Cortijo, it's location is stunning, the peace and serenity all around is perfect for relaxation - especially in or by the horizon pool. The views from all around will stick in your memory for a long time. To wake up above the cloud line and look on the misty valleys below is dreamy. Spring was a great time to visit, the gardens all around the house and apartments were ablaze with colour.
Stylish and relaxing
Cortijo Prado Toro has comfortable and stylishly decorated apartments in a quiet location in the hills above Pitres. The owner, Ludet, gives enthusiastic and helpful advice about great walks directly from the property. The access via Pitres is up a gravel forestry track, which is dusty but safe.
fabulous location, tranquility
Comfortable, clean, apartments in a tastefuly modernized old cortijo in the heart of the walking country. Conveniently located for hiking and only 7 min drive from a village supermarket. There is a pool with superb views which you can enjoy after a day of mountain walking. Very friendly proprietor who speaks fluently three languages (English, Spanish and German) and will help you to find your way around.
Idylic Cortijo Prado Toro
We were already familiar with Las Alpujarras, this being our second visit to the region. The stunning beauty and hospitality found in this area had drawn us back and, in the Cortijo Prado Toro, we found the perfect base for us to enjoy it's splendour. Being of traditional construction from localy sourced materials and tucked away up on a forested hillside we really felt at one with the environment enabling us to relax and enjoy the surroundings. This, coupled with the support and advice of Ludet, made us realise that we had made the perfect choice for our needs. All the facilities we needed were available in Pitres and Capileira, the nearest villages, and the walking / sightseeing opportunities are endless! For us, the perfect holiday. We will return.
We just love this place
What we like most about Cortijo Prado Toro is its remoteness, tranquility and dramatic views. You can even see the mountains of North Africa on a clear day. It is set in its own cypress woodland with beautiful landscaped gardens. The Cortijo has been designed using traditional methods and local materials with sympathetically decorated apartments. We have stayed here on several visits over the past ten years, in all seasons and in different apartments and they have always been very clean and comfortable. Ludet and Maite are also extremely friendly and they will ensure that you have a memorable stay
A great way to relax...
We've stayed at Prado Toro twice in the past 2 years for two weeks each time. Even on our second visit, we were stunned by the peace and tranquility of the location. We rarely return to the same country in successive years, let alone the same accomodation, so it's a real testament to how good it is! The local villages are welcoming and attractive, and the walks (Some from Prado Toro) are stunning. It has the major benefit of being in a high location, close to all that is best about the Alpujarras. The only negatives that I could say about Prado Toro is that it's a long way down a dusty track, which can become a bit tiresome, and on our second visit all of the other apartments were let during one week to a huge and incredibly noisy* family. It's worth asking if the remaining apartments are individually let at the time of booking. All the same, i'd still happily go again (And again!)
